Each row links to the page it was read on, checked October 16, 2026. “Priced by region” means the page showed us a local currency rather than US dollars, so we left the amount out; check it on the tool’s own site. Prices and limits change, so treat this as a starting point.

What is happening to remove.bg

  • The standalone website will no longer be available. Background removal moves into Canva, and API access moves to Leonardo.ai, both owned by Canva.
  • Annual subscriptions keep working until the shutdown and then end. Unused time after that date is refunded pro rata.
  • Monthly subscriptions end at the shutdown. Any final renewal on or after November 1 is free.
  • Unused pay-as-you-go credits expire on 1 December 2026.
  • The self-service API stops accepting requests on 1 December 2026. Enterprise API contracts continue.
  • The Photoshop plugin and the other integrations are discontinued.
  • Accounts are not accessible after the shutdown, so export invoices and credit-usage reports before then.

Which one to pick

  • A few product photos, free, no account: a browser tool. Ours runs on your device, needs no sign-up and adds no watermark; the white background and transparent background versions use the same engine.
  • Already designing in Canva: its remover is on paid plans, and bulk removal handles up to 50 images at a time inside your designs.
  • Hundreds of photos a month: a paid batch plan such as Pixelcut or Photoroom, or an API.
  • On a phone or a computer you already own: iPhone and iPad can lift the subject out of a photo in Photos, and the Windows Photos app can remove a background on the device, both free. Fine for a one-off; slower for a catalog.

When a cutout is not enough

A cutout on white is the minimum for a marketplace. The photos that sell more usually show the product in use: clothing on a person, jewelry on a hand, a bottle in a bathroom. That is what IsraModel AI is built for, from the same phone photo. See AI product photography and AI fashion models.
