Free image size checker for product photos

Drop in a product photo and see its exact width and height in pixels, and whether it passes the minimum and recommended size of each major marketplace. Free, no sign-up, and the photo is checked in your browser, never uploaded.

Free marketplace image size checker

Upload a product photo and we'll instantly check whether it meets the requirements of Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Shopify, Google Shopping and Facebook. The check runs in your browser, and your photo is never sent to a server.

What the checker looks at

  • Pixel size. The width and height of the file itself, not how big it looks on your screen. A photo can look sharp on a phone and still be too small for a marketplace zoom.
  • The long side against each platform. For every marketplace you see whether the photo clears the minimum, and whether it reaches the recommended size where zoom works well.
  • The expected shape. Each platform line shows the ratio it expects, such as square for a marketplace grid, next to your photo’s width and height, so you can see at a glance whether it needs resizing.

It checks Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, eBay, Google Shopping, Facebook / Instagram. For the numbers behind each verdict, see the product image sizes guide.

What to do with each result

  • Meets the recommended size: nothing to fix. If the shape is wrong for the platform, resize it to the platform preset so the product is not cropped by the platform.
  • Passes the minimum, below the recommended size: the listing is accepted, but zoom may not work and the photo can look soft on a large screen. Re-export from the original file if you have one, or try the free image enhancer.
  • Too small: the platform may reject it or show it lower. An enhancer helps with softness, but it cannot invent detail that a tiny photo never had. Reshoot the product, or create a new, larger image of it.

Why pixel size matters on a product page

Marketplaces use the main photo in three places: the search grid, the product page and the zoom. A photo that is fine in the grid can fall apart in the zoom, which is exactly where a buyer checks stitching, a stone or a texture before paying. Amazon, for example, asks for at least 1,000px on the long side; the checker recommends 1,600px so zoom has room.

File size is a different question. A large file slows the page without adding detail; once the pixels are right, compress the image before uploading.

Your photo stays on your device

The checker reads the photo inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you do not need an account. Close the tab and it is gone.

Questions

How do I check the pixel size of an image?

Drop the photo into the checker on this page. It shows the width and height in pixels right away, and whether that passes each marketplace.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The check runs in your browser, the photo is never sent to a server, and no sign-up is needed.

What is a good size for product photos?

For most marketplaces, a square photo around 2,000 pixels on each side is safe: it clears every minimum the checker applies and leaves room for zoom. The product image sizes guide lists each platform.

My photo is too small. Can I just make it bigger?

Stretching a small photo adds pixels but not detail, so it can still look soft. An enhancer helps a little; a new photo, or a new image created from the product, helps more.
