Compress images for free, no sign-up

Upload up to 30 photos, pick a format and quality, and download them lighter. Everything runs in your browser, and your photos are never sent to a server.

Format

80% suits almost any photo for a website. Below 60% you start to see blocks.

Longest side, at most

Photos are never enlarged, and a file that was already lighter stays as it is. Your photos never leave your device.

Why image size matters for an online store

Photos are usually the heaviest part of a product page. A phone photo is often 3 to 6 MB, while a product image that looks sharp on any screen rarely needs more than a few hundred kilobytes. Heavy pages load slowly on mobile data, and shoppers leave before the photo appears.

Store platforms resize what you upload, but they start from your file. Uploading a lighter file that is already the right size makes uploads faster and keeps you in control of how the photo looks.

Which settings to choose

  • Format: JPG for photos, WebP when you want smaller files or need to keep transparency, PNG for graphics and logos with flat colors.
  • Quality: 80% suits almost every website photo. Below 60% blocks start to show around edges and in skies.
  • Longest side: 2,560px, 2,048px, 1,600px, 1,200px, 800px. For a store, 2,048px is plenty for zoom; for email and chat, 1,200px is enough.

What the tool promises

It never enlarges a photo. If the original is smaller than the size you chose, it keeps its own size.

It never passes off a heavier file as compressed. If you keep the format and size and the result comes out heavier, you get the original back, and the tool says so. Changing the format (a WebP saved as JPG, say) can make a file heavier; the size before and after is shown for every photo, so you can pick the format that wins. It also warns you when a transparent PNG becomes a JPG, because the background turns white.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No sign-up, no limit on rounds, up to 30 photos at a time, and no watermark.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Compression happens in your browser, on your own device.

Does compression reduce quality?

A little, by design, but at 80% the difference is not visible on a product page. If you choose PNG, quality stays the same and only the pixel size changes.

Can I compress iPhone HEIC photos?

Upload them from the iPhone itself and the phone converts them to JPG on the way. On a computer, some browsers cannot open HEIC files.
