TikTok Shop product image requirements
TikTok Shop is strict about product images: a pure white main image, square photos, nothing written on them. Here are the rules from TikTok's US Seller University, read on October 16, 2026, and how to get a listing to the "good" tier from phone photos.

The main image: pure white, nothing added
The main image is the first thing shoppers see, and it is the one TikTok checks hardest: a pure white background and a plain, honest view of the product. No props, no badges, no “50% off” text, no logo in the corner.

The other eight: getting to five or more
- Every angle: front, back, side and a close-up of the detail that justifies the price.
- Scale and use: the product in a hand, on a person or in the room it belongs in.
- Every variant: one clear image per color or size option.
- Still no text: the no-text and no-watermark rule covers every product image, not only the main one. Size charts and claims belong in the description.
What about AI-generated images?
The rules we read do not mention AI images by name. They do say that placeholders and digital renderings of a product are not allowed, and that the main image must be an objective representation of the product.
Our reading, which is not TikTok’s: keep the main image a real photo of your product on white, and if you use AI for the other images, such as the product worn by a model or shown in a scene, make sure each one shows exactly the item the buyer will receive: the same color, shape, print and details.
