What pushes the price up
- Difficult products. Glass, jewelry and shiny surfaces take longer to light. Photography Firm charges a set-up fee for them from £100 per hour; Product Packshot Photography lists stacked jewellery images at £29.99 each.
- People. A model adds hourly fees, and often hair and makeup and styling on top.
- Sets and locations. Lifestyle scenes need props and set-up time on top of the per-image rate.
- Small orders. Minimum charges make a handful of images cost more per photo.
- New products. Every new arrival or colorway means shipping products to the studio again.
The AI route: from a phone photo
With IsraModel AI you photograph the product yourself, with a phone, and choose what the result should look like: a studio background or a lifestyle scene, the product in a hand, or clothing on an AI model. A standard image costs 5 credits, and the free plan includes 5 standard images a month with no credit card. What credits cost on each plan is on the pricing page.
For a plain white background you may not need a paid tool at all: the white background tool and the background remover are free, with no sign-up. The result is only as good as the photo you start with, so shoot in daylight and fill the frame.

When a photographer is the better choice
- Transparent or highly reflective products: glass, perfume bottles, polished metal.
- Jewelry with small stones, where every facet has to be exact.
- Large items, such as furniture, that you cannot photograph well at home.
- Color-critical work, where the photo must match the product exactly.
- Brand campaigns and video, where a real set and real people are part of the story.
AI fits best for clothing, accessories and everyday products that need many images, frequent updates, or a model that would otherwise mean booking a shoot. Many stores combine both: a photographer for the hero items, AI for the rest of the catalog.

Questions
How much does a product photo on a white background cost?
Among the US and UK studios we checked on October 15, 2026, published prices range from £4.99 per shot at 500+ shots (Product Packshot Photography) to from $50 per image (Squareshot). Most studios lower the price per image as the order grows, and many set a minimum order.
How much does an on-model product shoot cost?
Squareshot lists model shoots from $95 per image or $2,950 for a 4-hour shoot. soona lists a full body model at $159 per hour plus $39 per photo. Photography Firm lists a full studio day at £845 plus VAT, with professional models from around £50.00 per hour.
Are UK product photography prices shown with VAT?
It depends on the studio. Photography Firm states its prices do not include VAT. Product Packshot Photography states it is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
Is AI product photography cheaper than a photographer?
For catalog images, usually. A standard IsraModel AI image costs 5 credits, the free plan includes 5 standard images a month, and plan prices are on the pricing page. A photographer remains the better choice for glass, fine jewelry, color-critical work and campaigns.
Do I need a professional camera for AI product photos?
No. A recent phone in daylight is enough. Fill the frame with the product, keep it in focus, and avoid strong shadows.
